Good morning, Friend, It has been my privilege to write these letters of ENCOURAGEMENT for the past 31 years, going back to when Evie and I founded Barnabas International. I have written 12 of these letters each year, now totaling 373 issues. I have truly loved writing them. It appears that this month's letter might be my last and final issue. Good morning, Friend, When Nehemiah was ready to embark on his huge mission from the Lord, he didn't lack confidence because he knew that the Lord had called him to the assignment. He also knew that the Lord would give him the strength and wisdom to accomplish the work. Here's how he stated it two times: "the gracious hand of my God was upon me" (Nehemiah 2:8, 18). Good morning, Friend, I had a brief (couple of minutes) but interesting chat with a stranger in a local restaurant this morning. He was wearing a T-shirt that said, "Have a good day on your journey today." I said to him, "I like your T-shirt but I'd like to add a couple words to what it says." He said, "What would you add?" Good morning, Friend, Today, we return to one of my favorite texts of Scripture. It is focused on the thought life of the Christian. I return to this text for all my readers because it is an issue that I personally revisit almost daily. I assume you frequently need to do the same also. My suggestion is this: memorize the verse and ponder each word often.  "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things." Good morning, Friend, This month celebrates the eighteenth anniversary of my "near-death" automobile crash on January 22, 1999. A few days ago, a cluster of about twenty-five friends spent a couple hours together looking back on that event. Rita was with us that night. A few weeks after the crash, she wrote a manuscript entitled "Providence." She was at the scene of the crash and carefully wrote the details she observed, including people (the onlookers, the police, the medical workers, Kristin, and others).
