CernySmith Training & Assessments
Barnabas International is pleased to offer CernySmith Assessments as well as CernySmith Coaching Training.
This is a very practical way to strengthen the member care in your church or missions organization.
What is a CernySmith Assessment (CSA)?
It is quite possibly the world's best stress assessment! The CSA answers 3 basic questions:
- How am I doing?
- What can I learn from what I am doing?
- What can I do about it?
The assessment has significant statistical reliability in providing an accurate assessment of internal stress at a given point of time. It has been normed against more than 1100 expatriate, is an online assessment of 93 questions and takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
CernySmith Assessments (CSA) measure stress in 5 major areas: Organizational, Cross-Cultural, Relational,
Personal, and Behavioral as it relates to the adjustment and well being of people living and working cross-culturally.
Each assessment (CSA-B Business, CSA-D Diplomat, CSA-M Military, CSA-N Non-Profit, CSA-S Student)
is designed for people 14 years and older. The CSA is fully automated, easy to use, and comes with a
personalized report that is available immediately after completion. CSA Reports come in three versions: CSA-Brief (4 page, non-coached report),
CSA-Feedback (10 page report, coach interpretation recommended) and CSA-Team (14 page report for teams and groups).
Why People Need the CSA
The three top-ranking reasons that cross-cultural assignments fail are inability to adapt to the new culture, spouse dissatisfaction, and familial
concerns. Our team at Barnabas International exists to provide tools and solutions to help global servants thrive in their cross cultural settings.
The CSA evaluates and discovers areas of stress and roadblocks to adaptation. It helps reduce attrition by allowing for early detection which increases
productivity and effectiveness. The assessments are a source of vision and direction for individuals and organizations alike.
Cross-cultural adaptation is a process that requires continuous evaluation. The CSA can be taken pre-field as a way to create baseline data that can
be used as a comparison to later assessments taken on-field/post-field. On-field and post-field assessments are vitally important parts of the process
and can be used for skill development tracking and re-entry assessing.
Barnabas International staff can assist your missions organization or church to obtain a CSA account
at dramatically reduced pricing, thereby reducing both your CSA assessment and coaching costs.
To receive the CSA Coaching Certification, you must attend both Session I and Session II (two 3-hour sessions).
Upon completion and payment of your registration for one of the scheduled trainings, you will receive an invitation to attend the Webex training and your choice of an electronic (one download only) or hardcopy version of the CSA Coaching Manual.
